You've probably heard plenty of great songs in your life. Every once in a while you might try to list your ten favorites, only to find that ten just scratches the surface - and they continue to change constantly. Sonicate is the band that writes your favorite songs. No pretense, no pretentious noise for the sake of noise; just beautifully written songs for every mood of every personality. Though the history of the band stretches back to middle school, the members of Sonicate are only now reaching the point in their career that they consider a creative peak. Guitarist Ian Jackson, bassist/singer Willie Gregory-Bjorklund, and drummer Peter Baker are currently working tirelessly on two different releases. The first is a split-EP project with friends and label-mates Gazillion (due out in the fall), and the second is their long awaited full-length debut album (slated for release around New Years). |
In the meantime, the band continues to play regular live shows in and around the Twin Cities area. Their diversity allows them to perform quiet, acoustic sets as well as full on rock shows - giving the Sonicate audience a chance to hear their favorite songs in many different arrangements. The constants of any performance are the band's flawless and dazzling harmonies - and their ability to lose themselves in the moment, which makes for an incendiary and unforgettable stage show.
Beginning with the release of their album, the band's plan for the future includes continued touring, collaboration with other artists, and pursuing any other musical projects which interest and inspire them.
